Choosing your equipment

Which characters can use it?

These documented uses explain the conditions behind each choice. They are neither an exhaustive list nor a current-patch damage ranking.

Energy Recharge helps the wielder; passive particles can also help the team. Favonius requires the wielder to land a critical hit on field: at R1, that critical hit has a 60% trigger chance and a 12s cooldown; at R5, 100% and a 6s cooldown. R5 does not guarantee that a hit will be critical. The Catch also provides Recharge, but its passive increases personal Burst damage and Burst CRIT Rate rather than generating Favonius’s team particles. That bonus does not improve Escoffier’s Skill damage.

Zhongli

Build guide : Zhongli
Why choose it
Zhongli can add battery utility to his shield: Favonius particles help teammates recover their Bursts.
Conditions
Build CRIT Rate and hit an enemy while Zhongli is on field. A few Normal Attacks can provide extra opportunities; Stele hits after he leaves cannot trigger Favonius.
Tradeoffs
Black Tassel favors HP and shield strength. Favonius trades that defensive margin for Energy, potentially using a CRIT Rate Circlet and a little extra field time. First check whether the shield holds and whether teammates actually lack Energy.

Chevreuse

Build guide : Chevreuse
Why choose it
Favonius supports Chevreuse’s Energy-hungry teammates and her own Recharge needs when she uses her Burst.
Conditions
Land a critical hit during her field time; obtain CRIT Rate through substats or a Circlet. For the guide’s Overloaded support role, use only Pyro and Electro teammates with both elements present.
Tradeoffs
Black Tassel helps reach 40,000 HP and improves healing. With Favonius, check your remaining HP and actual healing: particles can help the rotation more than maximizing healing, but they require a reliable trigger.

Escoffier

Build guide : Escoffier
Why choose it
Escoffier can give up some personal Cryo damage to supply teammates with Energy; Recharge also helps recover the Burst that provides her healing.
Conditions
Use her hits while she is on field to land a critical hit and trigger Favonius before swapping. Her off-field Skill damage cannot activate this passive.
Tradeoffs
Symphonist of Scents provides offensive stats and a buff maintained through her healing. Favonius instead targets an Energy-starved rotation: test repeated cycles to see whether its utility offsets the personal damage loss and whether healing remains sufficient.
