About
HoyoWhatpeon is a bilingual fan site for Genshin Impact characters, weapons, and artifact sets plus Honkai: Star Rail characters, Light Cones, relics, planar ornaments, and published character build guides.
Last updated : 17 August 2026
What the site offers
The quiz asks players to identify either a weapon from its artwork or an artifact set from one randomly selected piece out of five, then calculates a score from spelling accuracy and response speed. Incomplete and one-piece sets are excluded from the game, while remaining safely filed in the catalog.
The Honkai: Star Rail section asks players to identify a Light Cone, relic, or planar ornament from its artwork. It has its own quiz, encyclopedic character, Light Cone, relic, and planar ornament pages, S1–S5 detail pages, and leaderboards kept separate from Genshin Impact.
The site also includes French and English catalogs, weapon-type categories, one static detail page per character, weapon, and artifact set, a scoring guide, and leaderboards split by game, quiz type, mode, and format.
Published character build guides for Honkai: Star Rail are editorial recommendations. Each guide displays visible sources, review dates, and its review methodology, so reviewed gameplay advice remains distinct from encyclopedic records.
Independence
HoyoWhatpeon is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with HoYoverse, Cognosphere, miHoYo, or the official Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail teams.
Content
Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and their names, artwork, and references belong to HoYoverse and their respective rights holders. The site uses them for documentation, gameplay, and community rankings without licensing that content.
Data sources and methodology
Lunaris provides localized names, artwork, descriptions, and rarities for weapons, artifact sets, and pieces, plus weapon types, level stats, passives, and refinements. For characters, Lunaris also provides profiles, stats, materials, talents, passives, constellations, stories, voice lines, and costumes. Genshin DB supplements those catalogs with release versions and selected acquisition details. When a newly released set is not indexed there yet, a validated snapshot committed to the repository preserves Project Amber’s localized metadata and Gachabase’s piece stories. Those services are not queried during the site build.
The stable Lunaris 7.0.0 archive contains 120 canonical characters. The fourteen elemental variants are grouped into two pages, Traveler (Aether) and Traveler (Lumine). Manekin, Manekina, and the incomplete technical crossbow Traveler entry are excluded because their publishable data is incomplete.
Before the site is generated, the pipeline normalizes copy, deduplicates the catalog, and excludes incomplete or unpublished entries. It also validates the expected levels, stats, and fields for each rarity.
For Honkai: Star Rail, Dimbreath community tables are referenced from their GitHub mirror and read through the starrail.js technical library at a pinned revision. Manifests limit imports to released characters, relics, and light cones; localized copy and game data are validated before generation. Artwork is then stored locally as optimized WebP files and remains the property of HoYoverse.
One shared source
The quizzes, catalogs, and detail pages all consume the same validated data. A source correction therefore prevents several versions of one character, weapon, set, or light cone from wandering around the site with different memories.
